Exit the Game - Secret Lab
Have you ever wanted to take part in a medical research study? Do you enjoy escape room experiences? Exit - The Secret Lab, from Thames & Kosmos’ Exit series, lets you try both in the comfort of your own home in this puzzling escape room game.
Showing up for a medical research study and finding an eerily empty laboratory is unsettling. Waking from a sudden unconsciousness to find the lab door locked is even more unnerving. Armed with nothing but a notebook of scribbles and an odd disk, 1-4 players must work to solve all the puzzles put to them as quickly as possible in order to escape from The Secret Lab.
Put your minds to work and crack the riddles you’ve been left with. Enter your answer into the decoder disk and consult your card deck to check your answer. If a puzzle is getting the best of you, you can use helpful clue cards to get you back on the right track!
This Edition of Exit: The Game contains all you need to experience an escape room from your living room. Download the free app for atmospheric music and a countdown timer to help you keep track of how long it takes you to escape - how quickly you escape and how many clues it takes to get you there will help you calculate an overall score. Try to compete with yourself and improve your score on another Exit: The Game!
The Secret Lab is considered to be 3.5/5 on the difficulty scale and contains one decoder disk, 85 cards, two Strange Items, one book of notes and one rulebook.
Due to manipulation of game components this game is a single-use experience and cannot be played again.
The Secret Lab, winner of the 2017 Kennerspiel Des Jarhes Game of the Year Award, along with two fellow Exit: The Game instalments, promises a one-time only mysterious challenge with an engaging scientific theme!

Exit the Game - Sunken Treasure
Exit: The Game – The Sunken Treasure
Kosmos series of Exit games offer a ‘escape room’ experience in a box. Of course there isn’t the same physical experience of an actual escape room, but through clever use of cards and puzzles they manage to capture some of that special magic.
Any game that makes you feel clever is always a winner, and Exit does just this. But don’t be thinking it’s an easy feeling. The puzzles, while logical, do take some thinking about and there are some absolute stand out moments in a number of the boxes.
Exit’s system utilises a few decks of cards, and a clever dial that serves to direct you forwards. Puzzles will reveal a code which when spun into the dial reveals a number. You search the solution deck for this number and this card tells you whether you were correct or not. How it works is a mystery!
There are clue cards at three levels if you find yourself stuck and it all works together really well. Each game is themed around some sort of mystery that usually involves an escape of some sort. They can be done solo but are better experienced as a group of up to four people.
We don’t want to spoil to much but it should be noted that in the process of playing Exit: The Game you will be permanently altering the components so this is not a game you can play more than once.
In The Sunken Treasure you set of in search of the treasure of the Santa Maria. Finding a shipwreck leads to you being trapped underwater with an assortment of riddles. Can you solve them? Where will they lead?

Exit the Game - The Sinister Museum
Exit: The Game – The Sinister Mansion is a co-op game where you and your team have to work against the clock to try and decipher 10 riddles. The scene is set: you and your fellow teammates have been invited to a fancy – albeit, a bit creepy – mansion (the kind you’d expect to see in an episode of Jonathan Creek). But then things take a turn for the worst. It turns out you’ve been tricked into coming here by the nefarious host… You find a book of nonsensical riddles and a bizarre, circular coding disc. Will these help you find the exit?
Escape Rooms are taking the world by storm right now. They’re a ‘locked room’ scenario where you have to work together as a team to unravel clever, subtle clues that are spread around a room, which move you ever-closer to figuring how to get out – and there’s always a time-limit. Design duo Inka and Markus Brand have teamed up with KOSMOS to create Exit, a series of fiendishly thinky escape rooms… Albeit, in a card game format. You can play this one in your living room (but there is no need to physically shut all the doors)!
Don’t panic, this is a spoiler-free description of the game. We will say, however, that this is a one-time activity, also known as a ‘destructible game’. You might need to cut, fold and draw on some of the components.
The Sinister Mansion works in the same manner as the other games within the Exit series. You and your team have a deck of 26 riddle cards, lettered A-Z. There’s also a booklet (the ‘notebook’) with a blurb introducing you to the scenario. An array of pages follow with initially meaningless text and images. You’ll be drip-fed riddle cards, which you pluck from the A-Z deck at the relevant time. You need to solve them together with what information lies within the booklet. No prior general knowledge is required, but you may need to think creatively.
When you think you’ve solved a riddle, align up the suspected code using the circular coding wheel, and it will cleverly reveal whether you’re correct or not. Solved it? You’ll receive more riddle cards. Got it wrong? Try again – was there something you missed? Happily, like real escape rooms, there’s ‘clues’ (a mini-deck for each riddle), which gradually push you in the right direction if you get stuck… However, you record the time it took you – minus how many clues you used – to get your end-game score. Can you and your team exit from the clutches of the Sinister Mansion?
The Exit series of games come with a range of difficulty. Take note that The Sinister Mansion is rated at three out of five (one being easy, five being very hard). Meaning that your sadistic host is smart, but surely no match for the bunch of you, if you work together!
